Hottness on Ice: Olympic Curling’s Best Looking Ladies

Everyone knows (or at least they should have heard by now) that Lindsey Vonn is a great looking broad…if you need confirmation get the nearest issue of Sports Illustrated.

However, a sport that has proven to hold its own in the hottness-factor, not quietly if you have been watching any of it on TV, is curling. ThatFan took the liberty of capturing a few of the women melting the ice-bound shuffleboard for you.

Icy blue eyes.

Our first subject comes from Team USA. Nicole Joraanstad, 30, grew up in Seattle Washington and has a business degree from Wisconsin. She is the youngest, and hottest, member of the team and was introduced to the sport by her dad at age 15 (thanks dad, we all appreciate the effort). She has haunting blue eyes and handles big stones like a champion (there is your obligatory curling pun).

The elusive Canadian Ice Fox.

The cougar on the list is hottest skip (captain) on the list, Cheryl Bernard, 44, from Canada. Her first major win came when her team won the Olympic Trials for Canada (Curling is basically the No. 2 sport in the nation). She has everything a guy could want, athletic ability, she started her own business which she later sold, and she wants to start another business…being a home-maker is cool with me.

Half of a pair of aces.

Next up is actually a double entry of the Danish Dupont sisters, Denise, 26, and Madeleine, 23. The older sister – who speaks Danish, English, Swedish, German, and Norwegian – is involved. However, little sister – who only speaks a paltry English Danish and German – is single according to NBC Olympics. I am hitting the books: Wie gehts meine damen?

Very Ja.

Than there is Melanie Robillard, 28, from Germany. She is a law student in Brussels right now and apperently enjoys skiing, cycling, traveling and keeping fit. Well, she has done a good job on the last one. Overall, the German team is not all that eye-catching, which might aid Robillard’s hotness, but that can not be held against her…this isn’t figure skating.

What a great sport.

Finally, a pleasant addition to this group is 25-year old Japanese skip Moe Meguro. She kind of came out of nowhere and actually made me go to the computer to see the highlights to make sure that I didn’t miss her. If you want to impress her, tell her that her team leads the tournament (through two matches) with three ends of three points scored, while they have also stolen two ends without the hammer (oh, yeah…I’m in).

Joining these ladies, and the women’s downhill gold medalist, are the following Hot Olympians: Tanitha Belbin (figure skating), Lindsey Jacobellis (snowboarding), Gretchen Bleiler (snowboarding), Hannah Kearney (moguls), Chemmy Alcott (alpine skiing), Torah Bright (snowboarding), Erin Hamlin (luge), Alison Baver (short track speed skating), Bree Schaaf (bobsled), Amy Williams (skeleton), and Mellissa Hollingsworth (skeleton).

Did the good Doctor miss a hottie? Yell at Dr. Venkman now!

Very Da.

EDIT: In an effort to give the fans what they want (see below) here is a shot of Team Russia’s best representatives. On the left is former skip Lydmila Privivkova (spelled correctly), 24, and current skip Anna Sidorova, 19, on the right. As for information, they are both right handed.

The accent adds to the hottness.

ANOTHER EDIT: After watching some of the NBC bonus coverage than this young lady, Great Britian’s 19-year old skip Eve Muirhead, has to be included as well. She is a 4-handicap golfer and a bagpiper too according to the telecast and since she is from Scotland, I guess that really ratchets up the hottness. The golf thing definitely works on this side of the pond too.

I’m glued to the curling, much to my shock. I might even take up the sport.

Nicole Joraanstad does make the heart (and certain other places) go boom – btw, she’s getting engaged in a few months – but you missed her teammate Alison Pottinger. When I first saw Alison, I figured she was in her twenties. She’s actually 37 and has two kids. And is still hot. (Wish I would age that well.)

You also missed out on the Russian team, who range in age from 19 to 27, and leave melting ice behind them when they slide across the rink.

It took me a while to figure out where the fourth Danish team member was, since the two sisters look so alike despite Denise being three years older. PS: You forgot to mention Denise isn’t just involved, but gave birth recently (at least according to the Dupont family website) and that said boyfriend is her teammate on the Danish Mixed Curling national team.

Going back to the US national team, is it just me or does skip Debbie McCormick look like Mirka Federer?

And yes, you’re quite right – curlers do have the best eyes.

I did miss Team Russia (my bad) and I hope Joraanstad likes the ring I got her.

  3. Carson Trice says:

I have certainly found the selected curlers hotter than the figure skaters, snowboarders, basically everyone except for Vaughn (she can be included with the curlers.) But for me the German, Robillard, takes the cake, followed closely by the Canadian 4th (i think its called the skip). Regardless…where is a training facility….are they all this hot?

  4. ben says:

We are looking for someone on the front lines in Vancouver…Carson, have some time to answer some questions?

  5. Kevin says:

Anna Sidorova… you are so beautiful. You have me hooked on curling. Please teach me… I will listen even if i cant understand what your saying. I do honestly want to play this sport. I know I would be good at it but where in pittsburgh or nearby can you play?.. And for that matter, what do all these curling athletes do when there isn’t olympics going on.. Do they have normal jobs? or are they all rich or come from wealthy families and just curl it up all year?

  6. ben says:

According to NBC’s telecast, most of them work regular jobs and have families to support just as with most people. There isn’t too much money in curling right now, but it is more of a “labor of love” according to NBC.

  8. Caleb Mairs says:

well BEN, in spite of the ruggedness our relationship is, i will post for extra credit in class. Curling, though seems boring, had me glazed for hour whilst on my trip to florida. Hotties, cougers, despite the fact most of the women are attractive thats not why i even bothered to watch it, it was the only olympic sport on and it was raining. i much prefer the snowboarding chicks, the winter dew tour at mount snow vermont was heaven, even one time i was talking to this babe (supa fine) all about snowboarding and wondering the whole time why this girl knows so much, much to my surprise as i was walking away from her i did see a very large poster with her face on it… anyways all in all if i was in vancouver id be watching more womans events than mens anyways.

  9. Ben Meyers says:

A good point made here by Mr. Mairs, the other events aside from curling must not be neglected during the XXIst Winter Olympiad, but the density of beauty on the curling sheets can not be duplicated by any other event at these Games.
